Tracks 1,2 & 8 are recorded directly from the movie soundtrack. This soundtrack is an early jewel from Day’s recording crown. It features a string of unforgettable hit songs, such as “The Deadwood Stage”, “The Black Hills of Dakota” and the Academy Award winning “Secret Love”. These vibrant tunes help ensure that the magic of Calamity Jane, one of Doris’s most adored screen characters, is never far from your memory. This LP is a fine example of the 1950s musical-movie genre and also features stern performances by baritone Howard Keel.
