Original LP versions 10 Nov 1954-1March 1955 at M-G-M studios in California. This soundtrack is nothing short of a work of art! All quite understandable when you find such an impressive array of song material including the Oscar nominated ballad “I’ll Never Stop Loving You”. This release is Doris’s biggest-selling album stateside. It peaked at the #1 position and spent a staggering 28 weeks on the American Billboard chart. Love Me or Leave Me was also one of the most successful musical-movies of the 1950s and boasts one of Doris’s finest dramatically-charged screen performances! Columbia/Legacy (USA) released a digitally remastered CD edition of this album in 1993. It featured stereo mixes of those songs included on the 1955 mono LP (with exception of “Ten Cents A Dance” which was now included as part of an extended medley of songs), as well as two previously unreleased versions of songs from the film’s soundtrack. Also included is the original artwork, new photographs and liner notes.
