This film was based on the Broadway show of the same title. It was completed in three weeks and shot virtually on one set. It was also notably the first picture that Gene Kelly directed but did not appear in. The plot to this cute, farcical comedy concerns Isolde and Augie Poole’s attempts to adopt a baby from the Rock-A-Bye Adoption Agency.
