45th anniversary of “The Doris Day Christmas Album”
November 15, 2009 1 CommentSet the mood for the happy holiday season with an array of festive tunes from America’s darling of song.
It’s getting colder and thoughts are turning to all things festive. Now is definitely the time therefore to ensure you have a copy at the ready of Doris Day’s 1964 best-seller The Doris Day Christmas Album. It may well be the 45th anniversary for this album but the sound, feeling and warm atmosphere conveyed throughout still to this day truly captures the heart and spirit of the season.
For those who don’t already own it a digitally re-mastered CD re-issue exists which was released in 2003 by Sony Music/Columbia. To be true to the original vinyl LP this CD edition utilised the same cover sleeve photograph from the 1964 release, contains all twelve of the original album recordings plus benefits from the inclusion of three rare bonus tracks: ‘Deck The Halls With Boughs Of Holly’, ‘I’ve Got My Love to Keep Me Warm’ and ‘Let No Walls Divide’.
