Recording sessions were split between two conductors 14 & 25 July 1950

Doris's movie Tea for Two was a Technicolor remake of the 1925 Broadway musical No No Nanette. Most of the songs remain intact from the original score and seem very at home on this adorable album. "I Want To Be Happy" and "I Only Have Eyes For You" are simply great!

Contractual restrictions imposed on Doris by Columbia prevented her from recording with artists signed to rival record labels. Thus, she was unable to record any of the duets she had performed in the movie with co-star Gordon MacRae. A British CD of Doris's American radio series The Doris Day Show does however feature rare live duets with Gordon.
