British club DJ ‘The Undecided’ remixes Doris Day’s Latin tune “Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps”

March 23, 2003 No Comments

UK clubs are alive with a new club track that samples vocals taken from Doris Day’s bossa-nova favourite “Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps”.

Doris’s popular Latin track originated from her 1965 album ‘Latin for Lovers‘. The track which had gained new exposure from being featured in the soundtrack to the hit 1992 Australian movie ‘Strictly Ballroom’ has yet again gained received a new lease of life – this time from a club remix!

In spring 2003, Doris Day’s vocals were sampled for a 12″ single which was released exclusively to clubs by independent dance label Wireless Music. Interestingly enough the DJ who goes under the guise of ‘The Undecided’ discovered the song by sheer fluke when going through his parents’ CD collection. The song’s hook caught his attention and after tweaking it in the studio the dance mix was conceived.
