This delightful twofer features Doris Day’s debut solo long-play and another inspired by her movie with Frank Sinatra.

Sony Music (UK) has released the two original Columbia albums “You’re My Thrill” with “Young At Heart” on a remastered 24 track twofer CD. The booklet features full-size reproductions of the original LP artwork.

You’re My Thrill was Doris Day’s first solo LP (long-play) for Columbia Records. The songs that featured on this 1949 compilation album were recorded between December 1948 to June 1949. Originally issued as an eight track 10” LP the album was repackaged and renamed Day Dreams in 1955 on 12″ format with four bonus tracks (these are also included on this CD).

Young At Heart: was released in 1954 to coincide with the movie of the same name which starred Doris and Frank Sinatra. Doris recorded the following ballads for it: “You My Love”, “Ready, Willing And Able”, “Hold Me In Your Arms”, “There’s A Rising Moon” and “Til My Love Comes To Me” (which was based on Mendelssohn’s On Wings Of A Song). Columbia Records then included some songs that Frank Sinatra had made for them during the 1940s as he was no longer signed to their label.
