June 21, 2004 No Comments

Warner Bros. are releasing on DVD this classic film which centres around the rivalry and eventual romance of tomboy Calamity Jane (Doris Day) and Wild Bill Hickok (Howard Keel).

The heart of Dakota [Indian] Territory acts as the perfect backdrop for a stunning score by Sammy Fain and Paul Francis Webster. The duo won their first Academy Award here for Doris Day’s smash single “Secret Love”. Other favourites from the soundtrack include “The Deadwood Stage” & “The Black Hills of Dakota”.

The full screen DVD release contains the theatrical trailer(s) as well as the premier & various award newsreels. It is available now from the USA (Region 1), Australia (Region 4) and Europe (Region 2).
