Paramount Studios debut on DVD “Teacher’s Pet” & “With Six You Get Eggroll”

Can you believe it but another two Day films are coming to widescreen DVD in 2005.

This time it’s the turn of the movie house Paramount Pictures. They join the likes of Columbia Tri-star and Warner Bros. by adding to their schedule two classic Doris Day films: “Teacher’s Pet” is due out on April 19, 2005 (US) / July 25, 2005 (UK) and “With Six You Get Eggroll” due May 3, 2005 (US) / May 2, 2005 (UK).

  It may have only been filmed in black and white but that didn’t in anyway stop the success of this 1958 picture which saw too screen legends unite. The movie also received an Oscar nomination for ‘Best Screenplay’. Just in case you don’t know the storyline Gannon (Clark Gable), a tough, city editor first ridicules then falls in love with Erica Stone (Doris Day), a college professor whom he is reluctantly ordered to help. Oh yes, the movie also features Doris Day’s very catchy title theme song!

  Can you believe this 1968 film was Doris Day’s 39th feature film and it was also her last. In it, all hell breaks loose between the children of two families, when their widowed parents, Jake Iverson (Brian Keith) and Abby McClure (Doris Day), both start dating and plan to marry.
