James Cagney DVD boxset features a RARE Doris Day movie “The West Point Story”
January 22, 2007 No CommentsOn the 24 April 2007, Warner Bros. (USA) release their Region 1 DVD boxset James Cagney: The Signature Collection.
Included in this stunning boxset are five new-to-DVD films: The Bride Came COD, Captain of the Clouds, The Fighting 69th, Torrid Zone and of particular interest to Doris Day fans The West Point Story.
The West Point Story was released in 1950 and starred Doris, Gordon MacRae, Virginia Mayo and Gene Nelson. Although this movie was not one of Doris’s most popular (as it relies strictly on its “star power” and not the plot) it did receive an Oscar nomination for “Best Film Score”.
