2008 calendar raises money for Doris’s Animal Foundation

March 4, 2008 No Comments

Over $2000 USD were raised thanks to the support from those fans online who bought this site’s unofficial fundraising calendar.

It’s no secret that Doris is an animal welfare advocate. As most people also know she heads two American-based animal organisations. Both work tirelessly to improve the lives of many of our four-legged friends!

In November 2007, this website independently arranged the production of an unofficial Doris Day wall calendar in an effort to raise some money for the Doris Day Animal Foundation. This was the first time that fans had been able to buy a “professionally” printed calendar devoted to the star.

The idea thankfully proved to be a success with fans online. Many of you kindly stepped forward to support the project and dare I say seemingly liked it. Although things were left very last minute (close to the start of 2008) this site was still able to raise $2217.44 USD. This was the total profit made from this venture after the deduction of costs for production, packaging, postage etc. Not a cent was pocketed for self-gain with all of the profits going to help a very worthy cause!

Sincere thanks to everyone who bought the calendar. Time will tell what Doris makes of the donation but for now you have all been so kind!
