“TCM Spotlight” – Details of the 3rd DVD boxset from Warner Bros. revealed!

December 17, 2008 No Comments

As regulars to this site will know Warner Bros. USA were “rumoured” to be working on another Doris Day DVD boxset and we’re now able to to reveal full details about it!

Warner’s third DVD set is titled “TCM Spotlight: The Doris Day Collection” and is scheduled for release to coincide with darling Doris Day’s 85th birthday in 2009.

This new DVD delight is a joint project between Warner Bros. and Tuner Classic Movies (TCM). It will be available from April 7th 2009 and features 5 new-to-DVD titles: “April in Paris”, “It’s A Great Feeling”, “Starlift”, “Tea for Two” and “The Tunnel of Love”. For each movie Warner has produced ALL-NEW remastered digital transfers which ensures stunning picture quality (such a contrast to that shameful British DVD set which was first to debut on DVD some of these adorable musical-movies!).

The other great news is that the set includes a generous helping of bonus features such as classic cartoons, vintage shorts and the “No, No Nanette” radio show with Doris Day and Gordon MacRae (from the 1949 “Railroad Hour” series). Each film title will not however be release individually so will only be available as part of this new collection which should retail for approx $50USD.
