RARE Lucille Ball radio show featuring Doris Day to be included on “Here’s Lucy: Season 3” DVD

The home entertainment company MPI Home Video which produced and distributed Doris Day’s TV shows and other rarities on DVD format has now unearthed a 1965 radio interview of Doris on Lucille Ball’s “Let’s Talk To Lucy” show.

This audio gem will be released on the 15 June 2010 as a bonus feature to the Lucille Ball DVD boxset “Here’s Lucy: Season 3”. This new DVD set contains the complete third season of Ball’s CBS-TV sitcom “Here’s Lucy” which was broadcast stateside between 1970 and 1971. It features all 24 colour episodes uncut and digitally re-mastered for superior quality, plus a wealth of new and never-before-seen special features. Guest stars include Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton, Carol Burnett, Vincent Price, Sammy Davis Jr., Rudy Vallee, Jack Benny, Art Linkletter, Buddy Rich, Wally Cox and Vivian Vance.

    Thanks for the info. I’ve recently been watching some of Lucy’s films – what a good actress she was! Seeing a 1950s black and white film takes a little adjusting but the effort pays off. She made some great films with Bob Hope, including one I watched yesterday, “The Facts of Life” and also, some time ago, “Fancy Pants”.

    She and Doris were good friends, as we know, and I always remember her being quoted, when asked about her favourite entertainers, “I like Doris Day”.

    It’s great to have such a legend back in the charts
    I have always loved Doris Day films and songs
    But do you know if any of her films are coming on dvd I have a few of her films on dvd but not all of them
    I’m such a big fan of Doris
