Doris Day “live” on Ed Dickinson’s annual radio tribute confirmed for her April 3rd birthday (Last updated April 1st)

Well it will soon be that special time of the year when fans around the world look forward to the annual ‘Doris Day’ birthday broadcast from radio station KIDD 630-AM (formerly known as MAGIC 63 AM).
The small radio station, that broadcasts to the Monterey Bay Area of California, came to the attention of Doris Day fans worldwide when, in 2007, it secured the first of its annual “live” phone chats with the Hollywood movie and music icon. Ms. Day as a tradition now calls in to chat and share her birthday with her friends at the station and its thousands of listeners.
As we reported in 2010, the station changed its name and format to primarily ESPN sports but the good news is we have just had it confirmed that the station will be doing a 5th annual birthday broadcast for the star. We understand that disk jockeys Ed Dickinson and Kevin Kahl will be doing their special birthday show from 8am to Noon (Pacific Standard time). As per usual, Ms. Day is expected to call in at least once during the show and fans are also welcome to call in during the show to wish her well on 831-375-6300!
STOP PRESS: We have just learnt that the BIRTHDAY broadcast will not be “live streamed” over the internet for fans outside of the radio station’s broadcast area to hear. After the show has aired, the show’s producers are however providing segments of it for Doris Day’s official website http://www.dorisday.com/ to play. We are also hoping to have at least Doris’ call in with Ed.

So glad that the show will go on. Very sad that it will not be streamed live. Glad at least portions of the show will be on Doris’ own web site, but sad that it will be edited down.

Happy Birthday Doris… We are very sad that we will not be able to hear your live web cast this year. We live in Ct and cannot get the station. I have waiting all year to be able to hear you and your songs again. You are my favorite living person. The Yorkies and I ( all seven rescued special needs elderly babies)

So sad that the show won’t be streamed live…I listened last year and loved it!! We all love Doris so much for the work that she has done with animals. I will listen to the excerpts(hopefully)on her website later today.
