2011 Doris Day calendar raises over $3500 for the Doris Day Animal Foundation!

March 31, 2011 6 Comments

We are absolutely thrilled to tell you all that the 2011 Doris Day calendar has proved to be the best selling of the four so far produced by the ‘Discovering Doris’ website.

Thanks to your very kind support this year’s donation is over double what we raised in 2010. Yes, that’s right folks including the charity auctions we ran on eBay for two “autographed” XL editions we have raised for 2011 over $3500 American Dollars.

The donation was this week received by the Doris Day Animal Foundation which truly appreciates your generosity and assistance in caring for the animals. To give you some idea of the type of projects such a donation will benefit the foundation has recently made grants to care and place senior animals, primarily in animal shelters as well as rescue groups who specialize in finding homes for senior animals. They also annual support the February “Spay Day” which exists to fund or subsidize spays and neuters. Another current project which the D.D.A.F. has been massively involved in is the previously reported Doris Day Horse Rescue and Adoption Centre which opens in May 2011. This should give you a feel for just how immensely “life-changing” your money can be to our four-legged friends!

To date, all four calendar projects have raised close to an astounding $10,000USD. Plans are afoot to produce our 5th wall calendar which will be launched in a few months time!

Before you go, we want to thank Ms. Day for taking the time to assist on this year’s project it was truly an honour to receive her much valued opinions. Also we are most grateful for all the other people who assisted us along the way and last but by no means least we are again truly humbled by your enthusiasm and support.

Truly fantastic news and I know Doris must be so pleased. I am truly grateful for the wonderful tributes to her including the annual calendar. My birthday is April 2 so I always include my thoughts of her and her birthday on mine.

I have been a fan of yours for many years. I am 75 yrs. old.
I would go to all your movies and then come home and sing to my family. Your voice is still the best of all female vocalists.
I would like to order a calendar.
It would be an honor to meet you some day.
