Paul O’Grady’s radio show has the world exclusive first play of the new Doris Day song “Heaven Tonight”

July 1, 2011 7 Comments

On Sunday, 3 June 2011, British fans are in for an absolute treat as they will be given the first listen to one of the all-new songs from Doris Day’s upcoming album “MY HEART”.

Sony Music UK will release that day to British radio the catchy pop tune “Heaven Tonight” which is written by Beach Boys’ legend Bruce Johnston.

The previously unreleased recording will receive its first play on BBC Radio 2 during Paul O’Grady’s popular Sunday show which begins at 5pm (UK time). For those who do not know, O’Grady is one of Britain’s best loved comedians and television presenters. He is also known to be a big admirer of Ms. Day so it seems entirely appropriate that he is bestowed with the honour of launching her new album.

We understand “MY HEART”  features new production work by the acclaimed multi-platinum selling producer Ted Carfrae who is best known for his work with American pop stars David Cassidy and Engelbert Humperdinck as well as British singer Jane McDonald.

    Hello,
Well, what can one say that hasn’t already been said about Miss Day?..Her voice is so wonderful and soft when she needs it to sound sexy and loud when she needs it to be loud.
I get the warmest and most comforting feeling when i hear her sing…..anything at all.Her voice is sincere, warming and beautiful.
I would so like her to know how wonderful and brilliant her acting, voice and just a fantastic woman she is.
I am a great fan of this lady, and she is definately a LADY!
I hold her in great esteem, yours Duncan Cooper.

Yes it will indeed play on any CD player! CDs are the same in all countries around the world so do support the UK release!

DVDs however are locked to the country/region where they are sold so that is why you had a problem Bob with that. You need a “multi-region” DVD player to be able to play DVDs from other countries.

Was so excited to hear Doris singing ‘Heaven Tonight’ on the radio. Although wasn’t it July not June when it was played? Her singing was different to her earlier style of music, but I enjoyed it. Cant wait to hear the full album!

Doris your such an incredible lady. Almost got to meet Doris on a movie tour 16 years ago when I was 17 years old, but unfortunately the actions of others in the group spoiled it for the rest of us ;-( So I missed my chance. I did leave her a gift of a Basset Hound (I think) Biro holder. Would love to know if she got it? To Bob, hope you are lucky enough to meet Doris, but it’s only going to be possible in ‘Carmel’. Have respect for her privacy though!!

I have grown up to listening and watching doris day, she is an incredible human being whenever I am having a bad day I just grab one of her movies and put it on, I just love watching “Calamity Jane”and “The Glass Bottom Boat” as well as “Moonlight Bay” these are just a few, she has brought so much joy into peoples hearts over her acting career and now with her farm in Carmel helping dogs and horses I think that she is wonderful. I think that because that she has given so much of herself that we she all stand beside her and help her with her selfless act of charity and support her with her act of kindness towards the cause that she is doing. She is a fantastic humanitarian I think that she deserves awards for what she does to show the appreciation for her generosity. Would really love to have met her especially my mother who is now 86 years of age, my mum from a young age encouraged me to watch the old classics and I have been hooked on them ever since. I would rather sit down and watch a Doris Day movie over anything else it would be an honor to meet such a wonderful person but as I sit here and write this email I have the utmost respect for her and respect her privacy this she should have.Love your legacy and will continue to watch her movies.
