Rare Doris Day movie outfits are exhibited from Debbie Reynold’s famous costume collection at the Paley Center in Beverly HillsAugust 23, 2011 No Comments
In June 2011, American actress and singer Debbie Reynolds auctioned quite a few iconic pieces from her famous costume collection at the Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills (right across the street from Doris Day’s old hangout–“Nate ‘N Al’s’).
The attendance by the public was so great that the Paley is serving as exhibit host to more of Debbie’s collection until the next auction in December. Among the items currently on exhibit are costumes from two of Doris Day’s films – ‘Glass Bottom Boat‘ (mermaid outfit) and ‘Billy Roses’ Jumbo‘ (several ensemble costumes).
Also on exhibit are Barbra Streisand’s costumes from ‘Funny Girl’, Julie Andrews’ from ‘Star’, Vivian Leigh’s from ‘Gone With the Wind’, Howard Keel from ‘Show Boat’ and many others.Tags: Barbra Streisand, Beverly Hills, Billy Rose's Jumbo, Costumes, Debbie Reynolds, Doris Day, Glass Bottom Boat, Howard Keel, Julie Andrews, Movie Outfits, Paley Center for Media, Vivian LeighNews
