“You are So Beautiful” voted as the Fan Favourite on Doris Day’s new album ‘My Heart’

November 19, 2011 1 Comment

We were inundated with over 2500 entries to our latest lucky draw to win a SIGNED & framed photograph of Doris Day. We asked fans to email in “What is your favourite song on Doris Day’s new album ‘My Heart’ and why?”

We picked Vaughn Brinson from Texas (USA) as our winner. He wrote this comment:

“Favorite track difficult to choose but probably “You Are So Beautiful” because we get to hear at length the superb quality of every syllable of Miss Day’s “One-Of-A-Kind” voice. An absolute joy to listen to repeatedly! This CD is also a very “bitter-sweet” product. It proves that it was a tragedy that she did not make more studio recordings during the early 1980′s and thereafter…”

Below are the results of how you all voted. As you will see Ms. Day’s heartfelt cover of Joe Cocker’s 1975 hit song “You Are So Beautiful” proved to be the #1 fan favourite. Only votes behind, in a very close 2nd place, was the demo record which Ms. Day included by her son Terry Melcher singing a rather endearing song which he penned for his Mother.
