Kristi King celebrates the music of Doris Day with her latest jazz album ‘Que Sera’October 26, 2012 No Comments
Available now is Kristi Kings’s new studio album ‘Que Será!- Celebrating Doris Day’ which compiles half of the songs she has enjoyed performing live during her tribute show of the same name. The charming album features the fabulous Hans Brehmer Jazz Quartet using arrangements based on Ms. Day’s original recordings.
“As a young singer, I thought Doris Day had the most beautiful voice I had ever heard. I sang along with her records, wanting to emulate her phrasing and the sweet sound of her voice…” – Kristi King
Ms. King has made a living as a singer for over three decades, performing in some of the most renown cabaret venues across Southern California, Hawaii and Las Vegas. She has also appeared on TV shows with Regis Philbin, the Righteous Brothers and opened twice for the legendary comedienne Joan Rivers. More recently the singer – whose home town is Portland, Oregon – has been wowing audiences with her show ”Que Será!” – wearing platinum wigs and gorgeous gowns as she brings the beloved Hollywood star to life through song.
We understand Ms. King’s show is scheduled next to play during Modernism Week in Palm Springs (CA) which is an exciting celebration of mid-century modern design, architecture and culture and includes architectural bus tours, films, lectures, an architectural symposium, educational events, and chic, fun parties in cool mid-century modern homes.
‘Que Será!- Celebrating Doris Day’ can be ordered now on CD format from CDBaby and amazon.com plus a digital-download edition of the album is out now worldwide – audio samples are therefore available via amazon.com and amazon.co.uk.

“The audience marveled at how well Kristi captured the look, sound and spirit of the beloved actress-singer, applauding each song, smiling, mouthing the words, and being moved to tears as the memories flooded back. Seeing the same response at every show inspired us to create this recording…” – Joan Merrill (Producer)
