Sarah Weller and the Mad Men present their Doris Day birthday tribute at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club in London

April 3, 2013 No Comments

British songstress Sarah Weller – who is a lifelong fan of Doris Day – is due to perform her tribute show to her idol on Sunday, 7th April at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club in London.

The gig is purposely timed to coincide with the Hollywood star’s birthday as it is meant as a heartfelt salute to Doris’ life and career. Weller’s show presents the songs that proliferated Ms. Day’s film career (comprising of the legendary Calamity Jane, Pillow Talk, Love Me or Leave Me and Young at Heart) all interspersed with facts about her life and her co-stars.

“Doris Day: everyone’s ‘secret love’? There’s no secret to my admiration and respect to one of the funniest actresses with the pure voice who can out-sing many of jazz’s finest.” – S. Weller
