Doris Day has just published through her own company Arwin Books a new paperback book entitled DORIS DAY’S BEST FRIENDS – proceeds from sales benefit her beloved charity the Doris Day Animal Foundation.

The 150 page coffee table book (front & back cover revealed above) celebrates the Hollywood star’s lifelong love affair with animals. It includes an introduction by Doris, foreword by her long-term friend Betty White (Golden Girls) and over 200 photos featuring dozens of heart-warming and often humorous images from her film and TV career in addition to candid and behind-the-scenes shots, many from Doris’ private archive and never-before-published.

Today, Doris enjoys a quiet life at her home in Carmel, California, away from the showbiz spotlight, keeping busy caring for her animals and tending to the affairs of her top priority: The Doris Day Animal Foundation. This book is a wonderful reminder of the Doris Day Animal Foundation‘s continuing quest to provide scholarships and promote legislation and special programs that benefit dogs, cats, horses and other four-leggers.
