This movie was the second in the
trilogy of Hudson-Day screwball comedies and a satire of the
advertising business.
Advertising account
executive Carol Templeton is infuriated by the immoral
[but lucrative] tactics adopted by rival firm exec Jerry Webster. The pair become tangled in a
hilarious farce centred
around a bogus product called VIP. The scam is devised by Webster,
who
eventually masquerades as the inventor, in order to acquaint himself with
Ms. Templeton. The deftness and wit of the Oscar nominated
screenplay made this film an absolute winner!
Songs featured are Lover Come
Back
and Should I
Surrender?.
