This is Alfred Hitchcock's lavish remake of his 1935 movie of the same name. It was filmed on location in Marrakech and in London. The thrills and spills centre around the American McKenna family who, while vacationing in French Morocco, become accidentally involved in a series of international incidents. Murder, kidnap and suspense follow after the father overhears an assassination plot.

Doris also manages to squeeze in a musical interlude in which her character sings two songs at a piano. These were the Oscar winning Que Sera, Sera and We'll Love Again. Notably, no previous Hitchcock films have featured soundtrack songs before.
