This
movie is based on a true story about the legendary baseball pitcher Grover
Cleveland Alexander. The
film deals sensitively with Alexander's rise, fall and celebrated
comeback at the 1926 World Series as he lead the St. Louis Cardinals
to victory over the New York
Yankees. The movie tones down his
alcoholism and says nothing about his epilepsy - no matter, moviegoers
still gave it an enthusiastic and understandable thumbs up!
