Having just received advance copies of five of these DVDs I have to give Warners a massive thumbs up as they have done a truly impressive job of restoring and reviving these wonderful films...

Right from the moment the screen menu appears and a snippet of the theme tune plays you realise you are in for a real indulgent treat! Then there's the bonus features which on a couple of the discs include many of the original theatrical trailers to other movies Doris made during her time at Warner. This of course is a total tease which will certainly leave you craving for more Warner releases!!

All in all I'd encourage everyone to order either the 8-Disc set, The Doris Day Collection or any of the individually packaged movies. It is worth noting that the set will also include repackaged versions of musicals Calamity Jane (1953) and The Pajama Game (1957). So, that's hours and hours of Doris retailing for a very reasonable priced $89USD!

NEWS UPDATE: 22 January 2007

A Region 2 version of the American DVD set (with the exclusion of Lullaby of Broadway) was initially available "exclusively" from HMV stores. The good news it has now been given a nationwide release. This should therefore make for a slightly more competitive price.

As recently reported a Region 4 edition of the set is also now out.
