Eric
Braun's best-selling Doris Day biography revised for
2004...
by Stephen M
(Last updated: 01 April 2004)
The 2004 edition, which I coordinated, now
benefits from a new prologue, extended
film/music/award/television listings, as well as
a new injection of previously unpublished
photo-material taken during the '60s by
legendary Hollywood photographer
Leo Fuchs
(see sample pages below).
If you haven't
yet bought this book it is a super-value
read and available now from the UK, USA and Australia (distributed by Allen & Unwin).
Furthermore, if you own a previous edition - this one knocks spots of
those before because of its new content. The
overwhelming message has to be that in the absence of Doris's official
autobiography, 'Her Own Story', this paperback makes for a superb
substitute and a faithful companion for anyone who admires dear Doris!
STOP PRESS
July 2005:
I have just been informed by the publisher that the 2004 edition has just
gone into its 3rd reprint which just goes to show it is as ever popular today as
it was when it first came out in 1991!

Upon finishing
the project I met with the book's [now retired] author Eric Braun who was as
pleased as punch with this edition and speaking from his home in Twickenham
(England) had this message for you:
 |
"I hope you enjoy
our updated book, when I say our, I mean Stephen Munns and myself as he
was so helpful. It has been a great joy to do and I hope everyone likes
it...." Eric Braun
