Delayed 9-disc

The Movie
Collection DVD set had originally been planned to
coincide with Doris's
83rd birthday in April 2007. As previously reported
though Universal advised this site it had to pull it
at the very last minute due to "legal reasons"...

It appears these issues have since been resolved as the meaty
9-disc R2 set
will be receiving its UK release in time for Christmas
on the 22 October 2007.
Truthfully, it doesn't pack any major punches as it
contains just a selection of
pre-existing DVD titles (many of which formed part of the
"lavish" 2004 set
Screen Goddess). The trump cards
though to this bumper
project is Universals decision to include their two DVD exclusives.
As regulars to this site will be aware UK DVDs of Midnight Lace and
The Ballad of Josie were were issued in
2006 and are not available in this format anywhere
else in the world!
First impressions are I think the
pretty pastel packaging with '50s picture (shown below) looks cute.
